Room 214 employs a proven process to building web properties, including five phases of development that merge creative and technical talent. Weather we are building a custom blog, landing page or comprehensive e-commerce web site – the ingredients for success are always the same: Defining, Documenting, Solving and Communicating.

The Initiation phase sets expectations between the project team and client team. Explanation and clarification take place to address details of project management, methodology, goals, roles and responsibilities. Customer, supplier and third-party expectations and requirements are discussed and agreed upon.
A password-protected (Basecamp) project management site is created to track milestones, upload assets and establish an ongoing point of communication.

Time is spent gaining insight into your business objectives, branding and strategy for the purpose of formally scoping your project and establishing future milestones. Assessing special development needs, producing timelines, allocating resources and budgets are carried out as part of a strict planning process.
The tactical direction for both creative and technical needs are established through supporting documents that may include sitemaps, wireframes, functional, technical and security specifications.

Design composites, or comps, are created to establish a look and feel that is both visually pleasing and user-friendly. Information collected in previous phases, along with existing brand assets contribute to the internal design briefs needed to produce new and effective web pages. Additional efforts include the production of custom graphics for navigation and header purposes, selection and use of photography, or acquisition of rights-managed and royalty-free imagery as needed.

The technical phase involves the actual construction of the site, and includes provisioning of an HTML framework to display all visual elements across multiple operating systems and Web browsers. Back-end architecture is completed while front-end functionality is merged with site design. Quality assurance and usability testing is carried out to ensure all functionality and usability requirements are met.

The launch phase begins with client approval of the functionality and overall performance of the site. Training, maintenance, handoff of remaining deliverables and documentation, and final staging follows. Analytics, and on-page search engine optimization attributes are added as the final step prior to taking the site live.
