Passion And Purpose: Working With Fine Art

Fine art excites the senses and inspires creativity.

Upon picking up a fine art publication this month, we noticed a particularly inviting and familiar sight. Featured on the cover of Art Cover Magazine was “Freedom” — a Will Day piece we get to enjoy every day. The Boulder artist’s work is exhibited throughout the Room 214 building. The magazine cover’s real-life abstract painting graces our kitchen-slash-gameroom, and numerous other pieces by Day are installed all over our headquarters.

“That is the ultimate goal for me, to share my story with the world,” Day says. “Being in an office building, in a private collection, in galleries, all of it, it’s a blessing for me.”  Read More

Do you think of credibility in terms of your resume and experience? What degrees you hold, where you’ve worked, job titles that support your level of expertise or point of view? Your “track record” on paper may be an important element of your credibility, but as a trailing indicator, it will only take you so far.

Why? Because credibility, by definition, is about how you are perceived as trustworthy or believable – and whenever you come across the word “trust,” you should immediately be thinking of the word “relationship.” This is an important insight to understanding credibility is never a place where you arrive. Rather, it’s a direction you relentlessly navigate. Your job history and title won’t actually build relationships, but your practice of presence and empathy will.
